英語の職場で使われる慣用的表現

イディオムの習得は非常に重要。

例えば、日本語でいうところの「誰にも言うんじゃないぞ!」にあたる英語を表現する場合、日本の義務教育だと、”Don’t tell anyone !” となりますが、アメリカの日常会話では、このような表現が使われることはなく、通常、”Keep it on the DL !” というフレーズが専ら使われます。
